Re.: Christopher Bews

I find it strange that he arrived and affected not to know anything, and then even after Jeremy had told him about Nevill saying Sheila had the gun, he asked Jeremy if there are guns in the house.  It's in his statement.  I accept it may just be clumsiness of expression in the statement  I appreciate the statement won't necessarily reflect what was precisely said.  It's more a gist or summary.
"If the accusation is not proved beyond reasonable doubt against the man accused in the dock, then by law he is entitled to be acquitted, because that is the way our rules work.  It is no concession to give him the benefit of the doubt. He is entitled by law to a verdict of Not Guilty." - R v Adams

Only Bews asked Jeremy on arrival what was going on, as if he didn't know, and strangely later in the same conversation asked Jeremy if there were any guns in the house.  This is all from Bews' first statement.
