The problem with saying that Nevill made two calls is that you then have to account for Sheila. Is she present? One a 999 or police call, then the call to Jeremy? It must be a 999 call, surely? Sheila flees upstairs when Jeremy answers? But why doesn't Sheila flee upstairs when Nevill makes the call to the police? If Nevill calls a local police station, not 999, what is the purpose of this?
Why didn't the civilian operator come forward after Jeremy was arrested and report receiving a 999 call from Nevill?
